About the Artist

Statement: There is always more to what we see than simply form. Intuition, experience and other senses all inform our understanding of what our sight reveals.  I am fascinated by the different aspects of what we experience as dimensional form, especially as it is embodied in the natural world.  In my painting and encaustic art I use layering, reflective surfaces and sacred geometry to represent these multi-dimensional aspects of a fuller reality.

Background:  Like most artists, I have been driven to know and express truth in my art, which for me has meant a pursuit of the nature of reality that involved both sides of the brain.   Many years ago, an introduction to the golden ratio (1.6128... to 1) and its prevalence throughout our world provided a pivotal point of understanding that united aesthetics, mathematics and spiritual inquiry in profound ways that continue to influence the direction of my art.

Education:  I have a BA in Studio Art from Connecticut College, an MBA in Finance from Columbia University and have undertaken graduate art education coursework at Teachers College and Smith College.  I have been trained in a wide variety of media, but concentrate primarily on painting, drawing and encaustic.
